Leicestershire sign Naseem Shah as t20 Blast cover for Naveen-ul-Haq

Leicestershire have made an exciting addition to their Vitality Blast 2023 squad by signing the talented Pakistani fast bowler, Naseem Shah, on a short-term deal for the start of the English domestic t20 tournament. 

This strategic move comes as a means to provide fast-bowling cover for Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq, who is currently involved in the IPL play-offs with the Lucknow Super Giants.

Naseem Shah's arrival and availability

Naseem Shah was scheduled to arrive in England on Tuesday, just in time to join the Leicestershire squad for their 2023 t20 Blast opener against Lancashire on Thursday. 

His presence as cover for Naveen-ul-Haq ensures a strong and balanced bowling attack for Leicestershire, further enhancing their chances of success in this year's tournament.

Leicestershire's initial t20 Blast fixtures

Leicestershire's t20 Blast campaign begins with two consecutive games, the first being an away fixture against Lancashire, followed by a home match against Birmingham Bears.

They will then face Worcestershire in an away game on Monday. If the Lucknow Super Giants advance to Sunday's final, Naveen is likely to miss all three of those Leicestershire's fixtures.
