Aussie paceman Mitchell Johnson has been officially unveiled as a Perth Scorchers player. The 34-year-old signs for the two-time champions with a view to finally making his Big Bash League bow.
The left-armer was under contract with the Scorchers in the tournament's second season before signing for Queensland-based Brisbane Heat, although he did not make an appearance despite being on the Heat's roster for the past three campaigns.

It was recently suggested that Johnson, now retired from international cricket, may miss his second consecutive BBL since his retirement last November.
But it has now been officially confirmed that the two-time ICC cricketer of the year will head to Western Australia as he seeks to make his long-awaited tournament bow in BBL 6.
Johnson has recent franchise tournament experience, having represented the Kings XI Punjab for the past three years in the IPL after a stint at Mumbai Indians. He has generally flattered to deceive in India for the Kings XI and played just three times in 2016.
The arrival of Johnson will increase the the interest around the rumoured targeting of South African quicks Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel by Scorchers' coach Justin Langer, with a fearsome pace attack looming.
The addition of Johnson and the potential arrival of Steyn or Morkel would go some way to softening the blow of losing veteran spinner Brad Hogg to the Melbourne Renegades.
Johnson's fellow left armers Joel Paris and Jason Behrendorff along with Australian international Nathan Coulter-Nile join the impressive list of seamers that could be assembled in Perth for the sixth installment of the BBL.
